Infant Massage Class today
Lydia and I went for our infant massage class this morning. We came in late (no surprise) and Lydia was crying (no surprise). As soon as we started the massaging, she got so relaxed and excited...there were 5 babies there, and she let everyone know how much she liked it. She was cooing and smiling and cackling the whole time! We have to make this a part of our daily routine...she loves it!!! We used vegetable oil for massaging...Susan said that it must be something edible because babies might get it in their mouths. She was stripped naked, and we worked on legs and feet today. It is a five week class, and each time we will add a new body part. It was so much fun! A lot of people I talked to were confused about this..it is not therapy...it is massage, like all babies should do (with or without physical issues)....but, in Lydia's case the massage is probably like therapy for her because it may help to relax her nervous system some. We can't wait until next week.

I am so happy to see how great Lydia is looking lately. Putting on weight and just her overall disposition. It is so heartwarming to hear her cooing and seeing her beautiful smile just makes my heart melt.
I just wanted to say how much I enjoyed the girls this weekend. Sorry I wasn't able to keep Lydia too. I'm glad you got to go to Marin's game. It's easy enough for you to bring Lydia and still enjoy the game-it's trying to keep up with Audrey and Elise that seems to be a little challenging. I'm also glad you got to visit with him and his assistant in the locker room after the game. A much needed visit (with grown-ups)!
Mandy, that was so sweet of you to apologize to Martin about your comment on the blog about his coaching keeping him away a lot- we all know how hard he works and how the nature of his job keeps him from home and his family much more than he would like it too. He is a great husband and father and I hope he knows we all believe he is doing the best he can. Continue to support and love each other-it's what going to get your family through all your trials and tribulations.
We love yall with all our hearts.
Mom
Thank you so much, mom! As always, you know how to say just what we need to hear. I'll be sure that Martin sees this too...He needs to hear some reassurance sometimes too.
Love you-
Mandy
I'm so glad to hear about how good Lydia did at the massage class that is awesome. Is it like an invitation only kind of thing, because it might clam my little needy boy down. That class sounds very interesting and fun. Let me know if it is something I could bring him to..... I was driving home tonight and I was thinking about what you said about feeling guilty about venting on your post and you know saying how everybody has full plates and lots of responsibilities BUT we are all put on this earth by God to work together, share and love and I was thinking how much you have highlighted God in your life and that is what life is all about really you know REAL LIFE not the daily grind but real love and togetherness and that is how people work when REAL LIFE things happen we stop the daily grind and see very clearly what we are put here for to love and care for one another and that to me is truly how you can look at the help you receive. I know you do because you know how blessed you are. I hope everything I'm saying comes off the right way its straight from my heart. I guess I just don't think you should feel guilty at all. Oh and Martin I saw first hand you helping out bathing those beautiful girls remember its not the time spent its the quality:)
Lots of love,
dottie
Thank you Dottie...thank you, thank you, thank you! Another blessing in this...I feel like we are getting a chance to feel close to each other again...probably since high school. Your words continue to touch me.
It's funny that you brought up bringing Kevin Wayne to the massage class. Susan actually asked us at the last class to spread the word to anyone who might benefit from it, and I thought about you and him...I think she meant for a new series after this one ends, but I'll check with her to make sure. I think that she will probably begin holding classes for payment after this series. It is five sessions. It is totally worth it even if there is a charge. Susan is one of my favorite people...a wealth of knowledge about anything dealing with kids. If you don't hear from me soon, call me to remind me. I'll call to ask about it.
